The key tool for making light and fluffy pancakes is a whisk! While pancakes from a boxed mix can be easy, it doesn’t take much longer to create an entirely homemade version. For extra flavor, add fresh fruit, like blueberries, bananas or raspberries.

How to Whisk: Fluffiness Tool

  • Hold the whisk in the same hand as you write.
  • Hold the bowl firmly with the other hand.
  • Tilt the bowl towards you so one side is on the counter, and the other side will be 2-3 inches off of the counter.
  • Use the whisk to stir.
    • Start at the upper right of the bowl.
    • Stir down towards the lower left side of the bowl and come back around to the upper right.
    • Once you’ve made a complete circle, repeat, making sure you’ve incorporated all of your ingredients.
  • Whisking should be done very quickly.
    • Make sure you use the sides of the whisk to scrape all of the ingredients from the sides of the bowl.
    • Whisking makes your batter or eggs fluffy and your salad dressings and sauces completely blended.
